Bowen therapy offers a Lymphatic Drainage Stimulation technique which is unlike other lymphatic drainage massages. What to wear?
Bowen and Emmett Therapy can be done through light loose fitting clothing and no oil is involved. There are times where working on the skin is more effective but that will be discussed so there are no surprises.
How long is a treatment?
Initial consultations are 1 hour. Further treatments however may vary from person to person depending on the presenting condition and what is determined during the initial assessment. Typical treatments can range from 30 minutes to 1 hr.
Can I have Bowen and Emmett Therapy if I am pregnant?
Yes you can, but please ensure that you tell the therapist in advance of your condition. Bowen and Emmett Therapy have had amazing results for pregnant woman assisting with pregnancy related discomfort such as back pain, sacral discomfort, swelling of limbs and tightness of the diaphragm. These therapies can assist you in the third trimester prepare your body for the birthing process.
How often do I have to have a treatment?
Treatments are not necessarily ongoing however if having suffered pain for a long time, it is beneficial to maintain the therapy to achieve the best possible relief. This varies from person to person and is determined by the underlying condition.
Many clients have routine maintenance treatments at various intervals, this could be fortnightly, monthly, or whenever you feel the need.
